CIA works with communities living in Arid and semi arid areas in Kenya. CIA is currently implementing its programs in Kajiado County. The region is predominantly inhabited by the Maasai community, who are pastoralists. The children in this part of Kenya experience a number of challenges, notably; Inadequate learning and teaching resources, Unfriendly learning environment, Parents’ negative attitude and lack of commitment in educating the girl child, Cultural practices like early marriage and girls’ circumcision, teenage pregnancies, Moranism and general poverty in the community.
