Esther’s Story –
Meet Esther Mwihaki (in the middle), a member of C.I.A’s Center for Young Mothers. She is 23 years old and a mother of 4 children.
Esther is a devote member of the Center and has participated in various trainings offered at the Center such as Economic strengthening, Nurturing care, soap and shaggy mat making as well as other social skills.
She testifies that through the Center, she has been enlightened and her self-esteem has been rekindled. She confidently coordinates the activities of the Young Mothers group.
Through the training on Economic strengthening, Esther has established a Kitchen garden in her home compound where she grows vegetables for her household and sells the surplus to her neighbors.
Gladys’s Story –
Gladys Nyaguthii is another member of C.I.A’s Center for Young Mothers. She is 22 years old and a mother of one 5 year old boy.
She testifies that before joining the Center, her self-esteem was very low and on the verge of giving up but through the trainings and the experience sharing sessions, she says her joy has been found and feel rejuvenated. She has gone back to her first love – Athletics.
Gladys is a gifted athlete and while still a student, she competed in several secondary schools games going all the way to the national level. Currently she is in the process of joining an Athletics training camp based in Ngong, Kajiado County.
